>The picture of the Siamese cat is just gorgeous,
>but you know, don’t you (sorry for being
>preachy here…) the heated bellowing would
>lessen if she were spayed %-)).

I'm not sure were Sarah found the cat photo, but I don't think there's any other breed of cat that could come close to a Siamese for blue eyes!

Truth be told, we haven't had her spayed because she's such a marvelous mother and mouser! We don't normally have much of a problem when it comes time to find homes for her kittens.

The other half of that is that we do lose barn cats. It's a sad part of living in the country and we have yet to have to put down a cat or dog because of an age related problem. Beet trucks on the highway, farm equipment and wild dogs/coyotes all take their toll. We also have a couple of pairs of large eagles. I've never seen them cart off a cat but I have seen them snatch up what looked to be a pretty hefty sized rabbit.

I really enjoyed this. coming from California, even reading about the trials and tribulations and lost stockpots in the snow makes me giggle. It's been 'spring' here for about a month. Most of the blossoming trees have already lost their blossoms (in the central valley) and have leaves in that Crayola 'Spring Green' color! The picture of the Siamese cat is just gorgeous, but you know, don't you (sorry for being preachy here...) the heated bellowing would lessen if she were spayed %-)). I had an unfixed Siamese as a child (well, until she was old enough to be fixed). My mother had to lock her in the basement of our row house to hopefully keep the neighbors from thinking we were performing unnatural acts in the house!! Yes, warmer weather and don't forget that horrible humidity, will be coming soon enough. Now if only the gelding could learn a more appropriate 'guilty' look all would be right with the world!!
