Cincinnati Chain Pumps
Posted July 6th, 2007 by Galen LehmanOne of my favorite old products was the Cincinnati Chain Pump. It used a loop of chain ![]()
Sadly, they quit making the pump several years ago. We’ve been working since then to locate all the parts needed to make one. Finally, we’ve not only succeeded in finding the parts but we’ve also located a foundry willing to make them in for us!
Last week, we built our first prototype and mounted it on a rack in our warehouse.
When testing is complete, our last step is to design a better looking frame. Of course, the frame must also be enclosed to keep the well water sanitary. We hope to be in production by early 2007.

Guess it wasn’t in production by Early 2007?
So, did the pump work? What did the testing show?

Sarah - It’s been a long road getting this pump to work like we would like it to work. We don’t want to put it on the market until it’s right.
The test was a good “proof of concept” and our main problem now is getting a good supply of the component parts.
After nearly a year of delays, we are revising our target to early 2008.
